AL’S MUSING FEATURE: FEBRUARY ’23 – A Q&A
Question: I’m so impressed with the difference between your voice and Lama Sing’s, has anyone ever said anything about the variation in voices and language between you and Lama Sing?
Al: Yes, in a way that surprised me. Here’s the story.
Many years ago I was scheduled to do a lecture at Tyson’s Corner in Virginia and after the lecture, a woman came up to me and asked if I would come and talk to her study group. I had time and she seemed like a nice person, so I said sure.
After being introduced to her study group and telling a brief story of how i got started, she played a short passage from a LS reading. Afterwards, she turned to me and said that she was a linguist and had studied how the English language had made its way to remote places many years before modern communication methods.
She went on to say that people from the English Isles traveled to Tibet long ago, and that some of the missionaries who were with the entourage taught some of these people English, perhaps in an attempt to convert them. Explaining further that after listening to a number of recordings, she felt that the voice was likely from one of these areas.
I was quite surprised as I hadn’t bothered to delve into the topic myself, so this was very interesting to me, as you might expect.
You might note that the “Voice” in the recordings has changed over the years. I believe this is due to the gradual “oneness” of our spirits as we worked together for the past 40 years. In a reading very far back, Lama once said something to support that, that eventually there would be little distinction between our voices, if, the channel continues with the work.
And here we are, still joyfully working together.
