Al Miner & Lama Sing
Who is Al Miner?
Al Miner had a chance hypnosis session in 1973 twenty-nine years following a near-death experience (NDE) he had in 1944 as a young boy. The hypnosis session triggered his reconnection to the other side. And so began his tenure as the trance channel for the Lama Sing readings.
Nearly 10,000 times, Al gave readings for groups and individuals from around the world. Although most readings early on were given in front of live audiences, by his third and fourth year, most questions were submitted by mail and, later, by email. Questions were asked by people from all walks of life — scientists, doctors, and teachers to ministers, parents, and the “terminally ill” … Those who have studied these works continue to refer others to them based on the accuracy and integrity of the information given.
For forty-five years Al dedicated his life to this work, focusing nearly entirely on the topic of Consciousness from 2005 on. Al completed his work and life in this incarnation on July 27, 2018.
CHILDHOOD NDE – 1943
When Al Miner was 9 years old, he fell off a pier into the icy waters of Lake Superior. His winter clothes quickly became water-logged. His family watched in horror, unable to reach him as he sank.
Al later recounted that, for him, it was as though this event happened in slow motion. Very quickly, all fear left him. The water was cold, but he no longer felt it. It was crystal clear, and he felt he could see forever. As he was nearing the bottom, he noticed movement off to the side. When he saw that it was a snake swimming towards him, he awoke from his stupor and clambered for the surface.
Not long after the near-drowning, Al became very ill with rheumatic fever, suffering from agonizing pain that came in waves as his joints swelled so unforgivingly that he would pass out. It began to happen that, when the pain became unbearable, he would often be visited by a heavenly entity he called My Lady. She would lift him from his body, from his pain, and take him on wondrous journeys past the stars and heavens to realms beyond, returning him once the pain had subsided.
About six months into his illness, during one of the visits from My Lady, she took him to places she had never taken him before. On their return, rather than guiding him back into his body as she’d always done, My Lady paused just above the roof of his small family home and indicated that he watch what was transpiring. Al was able to see through the roof. First, into his small bedroom where a few books had apparently slid from his bed onto the floor. Then, into the living room, where his pale, motionless body lay on the couch under a blanket. Finally, into the kitchen, where his mother stood at the sink working, while a man whom Al knew was the doctor sat at the small table staring into his cup of coffee. Al’s mother was crying. Somehow, he knew she had just been told that he would probably not make it through the night. In fact, he knew that, at that moment, he was dying.
He turned to My Lady. Without word, she conveyed to him that he could stay with her and they would journey back to the beautiful places he had seen and far beyond, or — and she motioned to the kitchen — he could return to his mother, to his family, and the illness would soon run it course. For awhile, Al felt into the enormity of what was being shown to him. Then he turned to My Lady and smiled. The next thing he remembered was waking up on the couch to no pain, his mother stroking his brow.
Al’s young body was severely damaged by the rheumatic fever. When he went back to school the following year, he was able to catch up, but could no longer participate in the sports which he had previously loved. He turned instead to music and found that learning the clarinet and saxophone came very easy to him.
When Al graduated from high school, he enlisted in the Army and passed the tests for an intelligence department position. But after he was told in the interview that this would be more-or-less a lifetime decision (certain “understandings” regarding his future would remain even upon discharge), he chose the Army band instead.
After military discharge, Al began playing clubs with a band in Wisconsin. Coming home late one night, a tire went flat and he stopped to fix a flat tire, feeling safe to do so right on the road because of how deserted it was. He retrieved the spare and was waist-deep inside it again to grab his tools, when suddenly the trunk was flooded with light from a car speeding towards him. The next thing he could recall, he was sitting on the opposite side of a deep, very wide ditch, the two mangled cars are the other side. With the flashing lights of the patrol car, he could see that the speeding car had smashed into his trunk. An officer was calling across the ditch to him something like, How’d you get over there, kid? Miraculously, neither the other driver nor Al were harmed. But Al’s instruments he’d placed in the trunk were unrecoverable. With no money to purchase replacements, he made his next career move and began working with mainframe computers at Honeywell.
In his mid-30s, Al faced another personal crisis which led him to leave his employment and then, on a whim, make a trip to surprise a friend. When he arrived, his friend, Mac, was headed out the door to take his wife for a hypnosis session with a doctor in Nebraska. Mac invited Al to tag along , saying they could catch up during the drive. When the session was finished, the doctor, Dr. Arthur Winkler, told Al that there’d been a cancellation and asked if Al wanted to take the spot. Al thought that was a rather silly idea, but they all laughingly talked him into it. That happenstance began Al’s tenure as a trance channel.
CHANCE HYPNOSIS SESSION – 1973
Dr. Winkler began the session with the hypnotic suggestion to Al: “You will now go back to that time and place of greatest spiritual significance to you.”
The next thing Al knew, he was standing under a twilight sky. He held up his hands, but they weren’t his. He looked at his clothes. but they weren’t the clothes he was wearing before the hypnosis session. Now he wore a coarse, robe-like garment that descended nearly to his now-sandaled feet. He heard men talking quietly behind him and turned to look.
A small group was gathered around a campfire. There were a few palm trees beside a small pool, and sizable dunes silhouetted the dark sky. The men were paying no attention to him. As he turned back to face the night, a feeling of joyful anticipation came over him. Someone about whom he cared deeply was soon to arrive.
He searched the horizon, waiting, wrestling with thoughts — what is going on, where am I, who is this I am waiting for? But the thrill welling up in him about the one he expected to come walking out of the darkness was interrupted when he heard a voice calling to him, barely audible at first, but growing louder.
To Al’s dismay, he began to realize that the voice was Dr. Winkler’s, calling him back from the session. Mac and his wife started chattering about what Al had said during the session, including something about a friend of Mac’s in Maine who was about to lose her home and needed some help. Al was confused and frustrated, trying to tell them about the oasis. But they were too excited to hear him.
Seeing Al’s frustration, Dr. Winkler reached down beside his desk and turned on the recording he had made of the session. The room went quiet except for the recording. Al heard himself talking in an accent that was not his, using words and terms he would not use, speaking about a woman he had never met.
While Dr. Winkler quietly spoke with Al about what had happened, Mac stepped into the outer office to call the friend in Maine. When he returned, he was shaking his head. The woman was, as the reading had said, about to lose her home.
Al was dazed. Dr. Winkler explained to Al that, while he was having his own experience, someone was speaking through him. “You have an uncommon, what’s called, somnambulistic ability,” Winkler said, and asked Al to return for another session the following day.
The experience of hearing himself speak as he did was very strange and unsettling to Al. But he also found it intriguing, and he desperately wanted to return to the oasis and, maybe, get to see who it was that he was waiting for. So he agreed to return for another session.
When Al and Mac arrived the following morning and walked into the waiting room, about thirty others were seated around the walls. Al started to back out of the crammed room, but Dr. Winkler quieted everyone and explained to Al that these were colleagues of his who were very interested in Al’s apparent ability. Because Al so wanted to return to the oasis, and because of Dr. Winkler’s calm, assuring manner, Al sat down in the recliner, and Dr. Winkler began the session.
Al did return to the oasis. And as the scene unfolded before him again in even more vivid detail, whomever was speaking through him answered questions from those present in the office, even an answer in a code to one in a clandestine military position, a coded message that was only understood by that one.
When the session was clearly over, to those in attendance, they burst into quiet chatter while Al was returning. Dr. Winkler again quietly turned on the recorder so that Al could hear a portion. Afterwards, the group members came one-by-one to shake Al’s hand. The military officer asked Al to let him know if Al was ever in the area again. When the officer removed his hand, a $20 bill was in Al’s hand. Al was astounded.
After everyone had left, Dr. Winkler told Al he was interested in working with him. But Al wanted to substantiate the information that came through him. So he and Mac traveled to Maine to see Mac’s friend. Mac guided her through the advice given in the hypnosis session, the ‘reading,’ which suggested she place an ad in a certain paper that weekend and use specific words. Al and Mac stayed because the reading had said she would get an immediate offer. Within several days, instead of losing her home, Mac’s friend sold it at a great profit.
Al did not recall his childhood NDE at the time of his hypnosis sessions with Dr. Winkler. However, he attributes his ease of journeying into the infinite to the childhood trips with My Lady, particularly that last boyhood journey during the NDE when she took him to a beautiful pathway and into a shining experience beyond — indescribable for a nine-year-old child, and nearly so when he described it again at age 82.
THE REST OF THE STORY
When Al began this work, he was completely unfamiliar with channeling and psychic phenomena. He decided to give it three years, during which time he would search for someone, anyone, who could share their experience and knowledge of this kind of work. During that time, he traveled the country, often with Art Winkler, giving readings for small and sometimes very large public audiences, as well as for individuals. When he realized he could just as accurately and with far less strain give readings for people at a distance, he began working from home.
One evening at the end of the third year, Al was scheduled to give a reading for a small group. Before the meeting, Al shared with Winkler that this would be his final reading. The group turned out to be one of many around the world that met to study a particular series of readings given by trance channel Edgar Cayce titled “Search for God.” Among the group was a man named Arch Ogden who served in various capacities with the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) including board president of the Edgar Cayce Foundation.
Following the reading, Ogden told Al that he was extremely impressed by the reading and asked Al if he knew of a man named Edgar Cayce. Al said he did not. Ogden then told Al who he and the group were, and asked if he could stay to speak with Al. What followed was a very exciting and reassuring discussion for Al. The night ended with Ogden inviting Al to accompany him to the Edgar Cayce A.R.E. headquarters in Virginia Beach. There, Al deepened his understanding of the phenomenon and decided to continue his work.
Over the following decades, Al participated in documented research projects, including a study at the A.R.E. designed to test the accuracy of certain psychics. Al’s scores were so high that the organizers thought there must be some sort of an error, and decided to repeat the test. Al again scored far higher than the other participants, but also exceeded his previous scores. The A.R.E. began to schedule Al to appear for them in programs around the country. Later, he was appointed to the advisory board for Atlantic University, a sister organization of the A.R.E. and the Edgar Cayce Foundation.
With every reading, Al’s peace grew. He received feedback from individuals that the readings were not only helpful, but life changing. As his certainty about the information in the readings grew, so also did his love grow for the group from Universal Consciousness who gave the readings through him. But as wondrous and miraculous as this love was, as Al journeyed through Consciousness in each reading, an even greater love began to blossom for Al ― for God and the Christ. Thus, Al joyfully devoted the rest of his life to service as the channel for the group known as Lama Sing.
The majority of Al’s work was personal readings for individuals all over the world, but more than 2,000 were topical or research readings sponsored by individuals, groups, and organizations. Al Miner is referred to in numerous publications and books, and his research has been incorporated into the procedures of professionals in various fields.
____
In 2017, Lama Sing gave a reading that includes this: “Sarah is one of the guides who has been with this our brother, the Channel, all throughout his tenure of service in the current incarnation. She has been at the side of the Golden One who came to lift him up from the pain of his childhood dis-ease. She and the Golden Lady brought him into many different places … so beautiful that, at times, he declined to return to his physical body. During those times, he was considered in coma, which was not extraordinary in those times. And so, we give this here because it is important to realize that, often, those who may seem to be lost or in a different consciousness may really truly be exploring the beauty of that which is offered to them in the Beyond.”

AFTER-DEATH EXPERIENCE
Per Lama Sing, all who have incarnated have “reviewed the current incarnation and chosen it for all its potential and challenges which are the best to cause your soul to grow and remember its Nature.” This includes various possible exits, which we call death, that contain opportunities to complete our service to others and to ourself. In this incarnation, Al’s choice of exit was “Alpha-1” and longterm medical and hospice care. (Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency is an inherited condition, commonly called genetic COPD. It may result in serious lung disease in adults and/or liver disease at any age.)
By Susan Miner, Witnessed by Friend, Signed Off by Hospice
Susan: Had I not experienced what I am about to share next, not seen it myself, I would be, at best, skeptical. But there are the medical records and the nurse to back it up, as well as my friend, Lunita, who experienced it with me …

At about 7:15 PM, July 26, having told family, friends, and his hospice team that he was not going to let the disease take him and that he intended to “meditate his way ‘out’” as he’d done for nearly half a century — except that his intent would be that on one of these journeys soon he would simply remain on the “other side”— Al meditated and fell asleep. By about 7:30 he appeared to be gone, with very long intervals between extremely labored breathing. I called Lunita to tell her it was time, and she came over to stay with me. About 8:30 PM the hospice nurse arrived.
The nurse took one look at him in the hospital bed and explained that his body was simply doing what bodies do when the person is gone but the body continues to shut down. She made her notes on her computer and took his vitals. “His pulse is very, very low… ” She turned to look into my eyes and said, there is almost no air exchange; this is called severe prolonged apnea. She sat down to make additional notes and I returned to the couch. When she was finished with her notes, I joined her beside Al. We waited for a breath. After one came, she touched my arm and asked if I knew what to do next. I told her I did. She gave me a hug and quietly left.
Lunita and I kept watch. Sometime after midnight, after the longest period of silence from Al since the night had begun, assuming what this meant, I slowly walked to his bedside. What I saw next shocked me!
Al’s head was now turned slightly to the side, nestled into the pillow, and his breathing was gentle, easy, and perfectly rhythmic! Gone was the waxy-looking body, head arched back, haunting sounds escaping his gaping mouth. His color was returned, his body was wholly at ease, and he appeared to have a little smile on his face. I motioned Lunita over! At first, we were both ecstatic, giggling whispered amazements, shaking our heads in disbelief. He appeared to have come back! How was this possible?!
Then, suddenly, our eyes locked on each other, no words exchanged between us but we knew what the other was thinking: If he returned, it would likely be to a severely incapacitated body because of the hours of oxygen deprivation. Simultaneously, we began yelling to him. “No! Don’t do this. Go back, stay! Be free!” But he was unconscious and unresponsive. After awhile, we returned to our make-shift beds in the room to continue our vigil.
At about 3 AM, I went to peek at him. Everything was exactly it had been since about 12:30 AM, his head and body remained in the exact position. I turned to go back to my bed when, suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I saw one of Al’s arms shoot up. I turned around and he was throwing the covers back. In one nano second, Lunita had seemingly leapt over the sofa because she was standing beside me as Al sat up and swung his legs over the side of the hospital bed. “I really have to use the bathroom!” he said firmly. “And what’s Lunita doing here?” And he got up from the hospital bed and walked briskly to the bathroom. No walker, no sign of any incapacitation whatsoever. Lunita left quickly and I began answering Al’s myriad of questions — what had happened, what was Lunita doing there, how long had he been gone, etc. — until we were finally able to put aside the excitement and get some sleep.
When Al woke up later that morning, not only were there no signs of his body having been through that unimaginable stress for five hours, but the rest of the miracle was that there was very little indication of any compromising physical condition.
Later that morning, his nurse and social worker came to see him. We were all trying to make sense of what had happened, what was going on. His feet and ankles had slight remnants of the edema and mottling common at end of life, but other than that, he was sitting, conversing easily.
The team was befuddled. Even the hospice doctor paid him a visit, everyone having known of Al’s great faith. She wanted to know if Al understood why he came back, but Al just softly said, “No, I don’t.” The nurse Al had started out in hospice with 1 1/2 years prior to this “passing” said that in all her experience with the dying she had never seen nor heard of anything like this: Not only had he come back after all that, but he was back without the serious issues that had admitted him into hospice in the first place.
Al’s 82-year-old body continued to improve for months following this event. There was not the need for the wheelchair, walker, or the former abundance of medicine and inhalation treatment given for end-stage Alpha-1. The Alpha-1 was not cured; his lungs were still diminished. But in the time he was “gone” he evidently adapted to that condition. He was discharged from hospice. Through rehab and exercises, he regained the muscle tone and stamina that had atrophied from minimal use over the past year and gained the weight back that he had lost.
Unlike his NDE as a young child, the only recall Al had of what happened while he was “gone” this time was of seeing three very large, brilliant circles in the darkness, which he understood to represent choices he could make, and a long passageway lined on either side by very large white columns, “like the Taj Mahal,” he said.
Although Al never did a reading on what occurred that night of July 27, 2017, Lama Sing did volunteer in a reading that the one we call the Master (others know of as Jesus) spoke something to Al during that event that was only meant for Al. Al did not recall what was said to him and did not pursue it. Several months later, October 26, our youngest daughter, Megan made her transition.
Al gave 32 more readings after that resurrection, including 3 videoed readings in which Lama Sing answered questions from the public. I believe this final year was his most important group of readings, where Lama Sing had another entire year (to the day!) to reiterate the messages considered to be of greatest importance.

Who is Lama Sing?
Lama Sing is both a group and an individual. The Lama Sing name represents a group from the infinite side and is the name of the channel or spokesperson for this group; Al Miner was the channel and spokesperson for the finite side.
The source known as Lama Sing is a teacher to the Channel. The Channel has functioned with this source in previous life experiences not limited to the Earth or physical planes. Though the name has been an individual soul’s name in past, it should not be thought of just as an individual in its present use or connotation, but rather as a group or purpose, as though one were speaking to a consciousness comprised of collective aspects.” – Lama Sing
At the beginning of each session — called a reading — Al went into a trance state. Lama Sing then borrowed Al’s voice for the reading. No fewer than twelve contributed to each reading, and sometimes many, even thousands, more.
Throughout the readings, the Lama Sing group deferred to each other, just as we do when in a conversation. The language often changed as different representatives came forward to speak on topics within their areas of expertise or from their eras of incarnation.
THE LAMA SING COUNCIL
The Lama Sing Council
There are never less than twelve, including Lama Sing, though this number may vary upwards considerably as others are called forward when needed. According to this source, those always present are as follows:
- One who is the source of all knowledge from the beginning.
- One who brings forth wisdom taught by the Son of the Father.
- One with all knowledge of history from the beginning of time. To duly record for mankind those things which are needed, and those words which are well turned to in times of need.
- One who is known as the Holy One. This one has the dedication to be the in-filling to all mankind. It is that he serves as a messenger for the Holy Spirit. He now stands with this Channel.
- One who comes from the Father Planet. This one shall bring to you the thoughts and ideals of this beloved gathering of God’s children. He shall add to your gathering the wisdom of his race. He shall show you, as necessary, those ways which you must follow.
- One who comes forth with all knowledge of the physical body.
- One who would attend to the minds of man.
- One who recently dwelled on the Earth plane to provide information for scientific devices.
- One who has wisdom in the ways of your present days. This one shall council on matters financial and business.
- One who shall be of personal comfort to the Channel. He shall dwell at the place of this body’s dwelling henceforth. It is his chosen task to seek answers for all questions. It shall then be his duty to tell this Channel those things which are not permitted for the minds of man at this time. It is his task to differentiate those queries which are and which are not permitable for answering under God’s Universal Laws. And to assist the Channel in the repetition of those truths into words which can be comprehendible by the individuals whom ask.
- One who shall be always present to assist other members of this council.
No names were given for “identity serves no purpose, as they wish to be identified only with that of the Father.” We may call upon any of these through Lama Sing.
Except for the information not permitable for the minds of man or that which would violate Free Will, there is no question which would not be answered, for it is their purpose, their chosen pathway of progression to aid and assist us in the Earth plane towards the understanding of our oneness with God.
