AL’S MUSING FEATURE: MARCH ’23 – A Q&A on Negative Thought
Question: I believe that your thoughts create your reality. How can I keep negative thoughts out of my mind so that my reality can be the most infinite possible?
Al: Negative thoughts need one thing to endure, our energy. Without that they cannot survive. They are like living veils fearfully striving to obscure that within us which is eternal and free. I won’t go so far as to call them parasitic, but we are their host. Since we are realizing that we can offer them a choice, we can withdraw our support of them and they will vanish into their own occlusive nature or, we can offer them freedom thru forgiveness and love. All of this is within our potential because we are either their creators or we have accepted them from life itself by choice or failure to exercise our right to choose. In either case we have the right to withdraw our energy of support from them.
We must be willing to accept love and freedom for ourselves first, otherwise what we offer is an empty cup. If we do not hold love and compassion for ourselves, a path remains for negative or limiting forces to become a part of us.
Remembering that it’s your mind so you are the one who has authority over these thoughts. Confronting a negative thought as it occurs and “facing it down” will deflate its energy and may even dissipate it entirely. Another expression of authority that works really well is to say very forcefully, “No!” when a negative thought comes into mind. A period of beautiful “Sacred Silence” and peace will immediately follow. Faith and consistency will expand this Sacred Silence until your consciousness is open to the Infinite.
